The song is not in English, nor any discernible language, but the level of emotion and power still lies in the gorgeous vocals of this Icelandic gentleman. The sounds of this song fills me with hope and inspiration, something about the tone, and general light-hearted resonance gives me inspiration, and positive idealism. Something in these notes gives me hope, and warmth, like everything is allright, and nothing's wrong.
The song I chose for when I feel down, and need something to soothe me is Exit Music (for a film), by Radiohead. The song talks about freedom, and the dangers of forbidden love, sending powerful allusions to the modern remake of Romeo and Juliet. Something about this gives me ease, maybe it's the vocals and brilliance of Thom Yorke, or the keyboard and synth from the Greenwoods, either way, when I listen to this, a feeling of hopelessness combines with the relief of emotional strain, and being able to let go from everything, moving forward with my heart and mind, and truly understanding that nothing I do will matter in the grand scheme of the universe, but knowing this only inspires me to work harder and make a difference in my life.

The song I chose that Emerson would enjoy is Sand in the Gears, by Frank Turner. This song was recently premiered at one of his shows, and a pinnacle of rebellion, and fighting for what you believe in. He sings about fighting the system, not conforming or hiding from the things that scare us, and being brave, fighting back, and resisting against a broken system, fighting against what's wrong and injustice.

This is an image of Wichita, Kansas in the winter. I was born in Wichita and naturally have an emotional attachment to these things, however one of the reasons this place makes me feel infinitely happy is because of the snow in winter. When snow falls in Kansas, everything becomes silent, all one can hear is the winds pushing snow around. I enjoy sitting in this snow and just, listening to silence, I feel at peace and comforted by the vast silence and cold, it gives me peace to be in such an immense plain, to understand my place in the universe.

This is mount Kilimanjaro, a vast, large, and famous mountain. I think Emerson would enjoy being here on account of the connection of Transcendentalism to nature and how that is the equivalent of god. Being able to scale this mountain and experience nature is something I would argue that Emerson would enjoy

8. "Every living thing is born without reason Lives by weakness and dies by chance"
This quote inspires me deeply for a few reasons, and pushes me forward in every sense. Everything we do is carefully calculated, and will have consequences as such. Nobody is free from the consequences of our actions, or even really born on purpose. We are what we make ourselves, and are the masters of our own fates.
9. "Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fall." This quote speaks to me deep in my heart, and gives me inspiration. Failure is a common thing amongst humanity, many choose not to get back up after a harsh failure and lie in the dirt. I try my best to be strong but I cannot succeed every time, knowing that true strength comes from determination, and the will to move on gives me power and love to move forward with determination
